Adult Resource Center
 

The Adult Resource Center is located in the Church Hall, and is open Monday – Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.  The Parish Library is located in the Church Hall in a room off of the small meeting room. It is open on Sundays from 8 a.m. to noon.

 

 

CHRISTIAN SERVICE COMMISSION

PASTORAL CARE MINISTRY:

 

Mission Statement: The members of Pastoral Care Ministry strive to be instruments of God’s love and compassion to the people of Queen of All Saints parish.

Our goal is to lend spiritual, physical and emotional support to those experiencing any kind of need or loss, (illness, separation, divorce, death, job loss, move, etc.); to offer formal educational opportunities, and to provide on-going training for Pastoral Care Ministers.

 

BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT
 

PASTORAL CARE MINISTRY   This group of trained volunteers provides spiritual, physical, and emotional support to those in need.

PARISH NURSE PROGRAM   A parish nurse carries out the healing mission of Jesus by promoting the health and wellness of body, mind, and spirit through counsel, education, prayer, resource, referral, screenings, health fairs, advocacy, and coordination of Pastoral Care.

 

SPIRITUAL:

ANOINTING LITURGIES   Twice per year during a weekend Mass, this sacrament is offered to anyone wishing these special blessings.
 

EUCHARIST-AT-HOME     Eucharistic Ministers will bring Communion to those in the home or nursing home unable to get to church.

MASS OF REMEMBRANCE   This special Mass is offered in the fall for those who have experienced the death of a loved one.  A reception follows the Mass.

MINISTERING TO NEEDS   We strive to meet any special needs parishioners may have.

 

PRAYER EXPERIENCE   We offer to pray with you on an individual basis, and offer many special prayer services.

PRAYER LINE   A group of lay ministers will pray for the needs of those who contact them.  Prayer ministers are notified through a phone chain.

  

CORPORAL:

BEREAVEMENT ANNIVERSARY CARDS   A bereavement card is sent on the year anniversary to those who have lost a loved one through death.

 

EMOTIONAL SUPPORT   We offer support for parishioners and their special needs no matter the reason.

GET WELL CARDS/THINKING OF YOU CARDS   We send “Get Well” and “Thinking of You” cards to those parishioners hospitalized, ill, or homebound.

GRIEF LETTERS   Timed grief letters and “Care notes” are mailed to families who have lost a loved one through death.

HOLIDAY CARDS TO SICK AND HOMEBOUND   Easter and Christmas Cards are mailed to those who are ill or homebound.

HOME MEALS   A group of volunteers provides prepared meals to those unable to prepare their own due to illness, hospitalization, new baby, or grief.

HOME VISITS   Pastoral Care Ministers can visit parishioners in their homes to assess needs, companion, or to provide physical, spiritual, and emotional support.

HOSPITAL VISITATION   Trained volunteers or Pastoral Care Ministers will visit parishioners in the hospital if notified.  Please let the rectory know of hospital admissions.

JOSEPH AND MARTHA MINISTRY   We find parishioners who can help provide services to those who need simple household repairs, lawn care, cleaning, meal prep, grocery shopping, etc.

LUNCHEONS AFTER FUNERALS   Volunteers provide a meal, both food and service, in the Church Hall, after the funeral liturgy.

MINISTRY TO THE DISABLED    A Pastoral Care Representative and the Parish Nurse work to meet the needs of those who are disabled.

NURSING HOME VISITS   Nursing home visits are provided by members of Pastoral Care and those who offer the Eucharist to residents twice per week.

PASTORAL CARE PLAYING CARDS   Anyone wishing to join in a fun time playing cards, the group meets the first Wednesday of the month in the church hall.

TIME-OF-LOSS BEREAVEMENT CARDS   A bereavement card is sent out by Pastoral Care to those who have lost a spouse or family member through death.

TRANSPORTATION   Volunteers provide rides for parishioners as needed.

SUPPORT GROUPS:           

- BEGINNING AGAIN SOUTH COUNTY DIVORCE GROUP   This program offers support to those experiencing the changes and transitions of divorce or separation.

- BREAST CANCER SUPPORT GROUP   This group offers support to anyone experiencing breast cancer.

 -COPE WITH HOPE   This group offers support to those experiencing chronic illness or chronic pain.

- GROWING THROUGH GRIEF   This program offers support to those who have experienced the death of a loved one. 

- LIFE AFTER LOSS   This group offers support for those who have experienced the loss of a spouse through death within the last two years.

- MOM-2-MOM   This group provides encouragement, companionship, and spiritual support to expectant mothers from pregnancy through birth.

-YOGA CLASSES   Yoga is offered as a class in eight week sessions.

 

EDUCATIONAL:

HEALTH EDUCATION   Personal education and counseling, seminars and talks by health professionals.

HEALTH FAIRS   A designated day every few years where a conglomeration of health professionals educates people about health, prevention, and resources available to the community.

HEALTH SCREENINGS   Blood pressure, lifeline, special blood screenings such as glucose and cholesterol, are offered on an occasional basis, or upon request.

MIND-OVER-MATTER     Weight loss suggestions and life coaching.

PASTORAL CARE MINISTRY TRAINING     Training to learn skills to become a pastoral care minister.  Meetings are two hours, once per month, for ten months.

PRINTED MATERIALS   Adult resource center and library.

 

 CHRISTIAN FORMATION COMMISSION

ADULT FAITH FORMATION  

 

RCIA-  Rite of Christian Initiation Process is for those non-Catholics interested in learning more about the Catholic faith and becoming Catholic.

 

WELCOMING COMMITTEE-  Parishioners and parish staff welcoming new parishioners into the faith community of QAS.

 

COMMUNITY THANKGIVING PRAYER SERVICE -  Community churches unite in an evening of prayer and worship.  The service is held at alternating churches of our area usually the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

 

ADVENT(ure) -  A family advent opportunity  with song and prayer.

 

PARISH MISSION -  An opportunity to hear dynamic guest speakers from all over the United States enhancing our Catholic journey. 

 

CHRIST RENEWS HIS PARISH- (CRHP)  This is an ongoing formation of faith and renewal that begins with a commitment to attend a renewal weekend and ultimately manifests itself in a renewed parish.  Attended by parishioners of Queen of All Saints, this is a way to connect with your parish family.  Usually held twice a year with men and women on separate weekends. 

 

LIFE IN THE SPIRIT-  This seminar is designed to help us make the transition from what we know about God, intellectually, to a personal relationship with Him in our hearts.  The teaching is basic, straightforward and promotes a sense of community all within the Catholic doctrine. 

 

JONAH MINISTRY -  A trained prayer team available after Masses on specific weekends.

 

CATHOLICS RETURNING HOME – An invitation to non-practicing Catholics to “Return Home” to the Catholic church and resume the active practice of their faith.

 

METROPOLITAN CONGREGATIONS UNITED – (MCU)  Isaiah is a faith based organization made up of several congregations in the South County area.  MCU’s purpose is to connect the faith life of people to the building of community.  This is done by becoming aware of community issues and building relationships with the policymakers who can bring about change.  Our faith life calls us to care about the places we live, worship and work.

 

 HABITAT FOR HUMANITY -  A dedicated group of people over 18 who help in the building of houses for the needy.

 

BEGINNING AGAIN-DIVORCE CARE MINISTRY – A support group for the separated or divorced in our Catholic community.  Our mission is to embrace the call of Christ to “Heal the Broken Hearted” and to seek to enhance the well being of Catholics who find themselves in the circumstance of separation or divorce by creating a welcoming environment with our Catholic church.

 

MINISTRY OF MOTHERS SHARING – (MOMS)  Mothers of all ages are brought together to share the process of personal and spiritual growth.  Women have the opportunity to clarify their values, claim their own giftedness, and bring these strengths to their family relationships and to the Christian community.

 

PARISH OUTREACH NEIGHBORHOOD MINISTRY -  To make all parishioners aware that QAS is a parish that cares about its members.  To acquaint parishioners with opportunities available to them in the parish.  To invite inactive parishioners to become

more active in our parish family.  To develop neighborhood unity. 

 

EVANGELIZATION COMMITTEE –This committee seeks to bring the good news of Jesus into every human situation and seeks to convert individuals to the truth of the Gospels.
